April 2021

Alrighty!  Here's April, out of order as usual!  :)

Eli went to the Cowboys's stadium with a friend this month and had a blast.

CJ spent a few days with us (and went camping with us!), and he got a new rod and reel for his birthday.  We love him so much!

Back to Eli and Cannon at the stadium...

And all the way backwards to Easter!  This was Easter morning before church.

The night before Easter, my mom did her annual Easter egg hunt for the kids and "Easter Egg Relay" for the adults.  It's always a blast!

And on Good Friday, we had a Seder Dinner to celebrate Passover and Jesus' sacrifice for us.  I love this tradition.

I make him dye eggs every Easter.  :)

Here are a few pictures from our big family camping trip to Daingerfield in April.  We had a wonderful time being together in our favorite place.

We went to Cooper's Lake State Park to camp one weekend in April as well, and CJ came with us.  It was a great little trip with lots of fishing and some very MUDDY hiking.  :)

And that's our April!  LOVE to you!!

March 2021

March seemed like a busy month, but I have hardly any pictures to show for it!  Regardless, here are a few from our month...

The boys all went on a camping trip together to Atlanta State Park and had a blast hiking, playing football, fishing, eating, and just enjoying being outside together.

The hi-light of Eli's trip was finding this bat!  :)

We went to the drive-in movies one evening this month.  We saw the "Croods 2" movie and really liked it!  Outdoor movies are such a fun experience.

Eli and his many discs...

And that's it for this month!  I wish I had thought to take more pictures this month, but it is what it is.  :)  April is FULL of activities, as is typical with spring, and we are looking forward to all of it.  Much love to you!

February 2021

Prepare for the usual barrage of out-of-order photos!  :)  Here's February...

Eric and I got to go to our favorite hotel in Dallas for a little get-away weekend before Valentine's Day.  We LOVE walking all the trails around the beautiful grounds, and we love all the yummy restaurants close-by.  :)  It was a fun, restful time that we so enjoyed!

And then Eric got COVID!  :)  Fortunately, he had a super mild case, but we were all quarantined here at home for a while.  I was able to work from home some, and Eli's school does such a good job of making virtual learning super accessible.  And Eric got a week at home to work on projects around the house!  I feel bad saying that our bout with COVID actually was really restful, since I know so many have such an awful time of it.  But we took Eric's light case and the fact that Eli and I never got it as just a gift from the Lord and enjoyed that extra time at home together.

We were quarantined for the Super Bowl, so we just did our own thing with good food.  :)  Although this picture is dumb.  :)

LOTS of disc golf was played during quarantine!  Virtual learning doesn't include Bible class or electives, so Eli had a few hours of extra time during the day, which he loved!

And I enjoyed extra time to read on my bed with my cat and a cup of tea!  :)

Virtual school pro...

That led us right into Valentine's Day, on which we woke up to SNOW!  Church was cancelled because the roads were icy, so we had a big breakfast together, watched the sermon online, and then got outside to play!

Always lots of tackle football.  :)

And of course the guys had to disc golf in the snow!  :)

We woke up on Tuesday morning to a good few inches of snow, which is more than Texas has seen in a very long time.  Everything shut down...  no one could get to work with the roads being so bad.

It was such an unexpected gift of time together at home and to enjoy being outside so much.

This is our walking path behind our house...  I've walked this path thousands of times in my life, but never in these conditions!  :)  We took long walks every day and so thoroughly enjoyed it.

So much football!

And evening walk with the whole family...  The park behind our house was deserted, obviously, so we had the whole place to ourselves.

The hilight of the week was the ICE RINK that my dad and the boys built the weekend before the storm hit.  By mid-week it was frozen solid, and the boys played out there non-stop with their street hockey sticks and a roll of duck tape as the puck.  :)

On Wednesday we got another couple inches of snow, and it solidified the fact that no one was going back to work during the week!

And then on Friday the temperatures finally got more Texas-like.  Eli and Timothy built this snow-man as a last homage to the Texas snow, and then it was 75 degrees on Sunday.  :)  We sure enjoyed this crazy bout of cold weather!

This is what happens when we are not paying attention...  Hank sneaks up on Eli's bed for a nap with Mabel.  He won't raise his head and look at me because he's afraid I'll make him get down.  :)

More sledding pictures...

A neighborhood friend made a giant sled out of an old car hood, tied it to the back of his pick-up, planted a flag on top, and then drove the kids up and down the deserted main road by our house.  :)  It was a very "Texas" thing to do, and the boys had a blast.

And that concludes our out-of-the-ordinary February!  Love to you!!
