November 2019

As a testament to the busyness of this season, I forgot to post pictures of November!  :)  Here are a few, a little late...

We went to a Mesquite High School football game one Friday night.

The boys went on a camping trip all together and had a blast!

The kids put together the "5 Cousin Concert" for us one Saturday night.  It was really cute and entertaining!  It's fun to see them each learn and grow and develop their talents.

Eli's class dressed up as Expo markers for the "battle of the classes" one week at school.  God bless the room mom who made all these costumes!  :)

Eric's boss gave us tickets to see the Warriors play the Dallas Mavericks.  We took Cooper with us and had a blast!  Eli was a little bummed that his team (the Warriors) got beaten so badly, though.  :)

Thanksgiving 2019!  We went to Eric's aunt and uncle's house for lunch, and then back to my parents' house for dinner.  It was great to see so many family members that we don't get to see that often, and the food was fantastic, as always!

We usually go to the Christmas tree farm with the Heinzes the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but the forecast was terrible this year, so we headed to breakfast and then to Lowe's instead.  :)  We  had a great time, though the photos are not nearly as picturesque.  :)

Eli even got to sit in Santa's lap.  :)

While I worked on decorating our tree inside, the boys got to work on decorating their tree outside, as they do every year.  It's the centerpiece of the neighborhood!  :)

Finished!

And finished!

We went to see Mesquite's new indoor pro soccer team play at the Mesquite Arena, just a mile from our house, and we had a great time.

And that was November!  We have a busy December underway, but we're trying to savor every moment of it and focus our hearts on the Advent of Christ.  Much love and Christmas joy to you all!!

September and October, 2019

These first couple of fall months felt like they FLEW by!  Here are some pictures from our September and October.

I took hardly any pictures in September!  We went to the fair with Eli's school on opening day.  It was HOOOOOT and so crowded, but we made the most of it.  We cut out early with our friends Dawn and Lauren and let Eli and Lauren ride a few rides before we couldn't stand the heat anymore.  :)

At the beginning of October, Eric and I took Eli, Jacey, Cooper, and CJ back to the fair when it was cooler and less crowded.  We rode a ton of rides, ate all sorts of fair food, played some games, and had a blast!

Eli's school had a 5k "color run" as a fundraiser.  Eric and Eli did it, and the Heinzes and our friends the Howards came to support Eli's school as well.

The whole family went to Daingerfield for our annual fall camping trip.  The weather was gorgeous, and we had a great time.

We finished up October with a "fall festival" at church (which was held indoors because it was so cold and rainy!).  On Halloween we carved a pumpkin, ordered pizza, watched a movie, and handed out candy to trick-or-treaters.

Happy November!  :)

August 2019

August!  We had a great last month of summer and are looking forward to the fall.  A few pictures from the past month...

We get together with our friends the Hilfertys once or twice a year.  Eli and Victoria have been friends since primer, and it's so fun to see them pick right up where they left off each time they see each other.

We went with the Heinzes to Beaver's Bend for a long weekend.  The boys fished for most of the weekend, and Kelly and I stayed inside the beautiful house and read, talked, ate, and relaxed!  :)  It was a really refreshing weekend, the perfect way to end the summer.

Eli started SIXTH GRADE this week!  He's did great just easing right back into the school routine.  He loves his teachers and his friends; he just doesn't like homework.  :)  We're so proud of our boy, and so thankful for a great school (PCCS) that's a great fit for our family.

And that's a wrap!  We're looking forward to the long Labor Day weekend, and to hopefully cooler weather soon.  :)  Happy almost fall!
