Pray for Eric!

On Friday (02/29), Eric is having his tonsils taken out and his deviated septum repaired. He is really calm and cool about it, but I'm getting more and more nervous! It's a pretty major surgery, and the recovery will be fairly painful, and I just hate to think of him hurting so much.

Will you join us in praying that the surgery goes well and that there are no complications, that his pain is minimal, that the recovery is smooth and quick, and the surgery helps him to breathe and sleep better? Please pray also that I will be sensitive to his needs and know how to take care of him just like he needs it. Thank you so much- we need your prayers!

We'll keep you posted as to how things go. Hopefully in a week or two Eric will be breathing and sleeping so much better and having no more allergy and sinus problems. That will make it all worth it!

Pregnancy Update

Here is a picture of me at 23 weeks and a few days pregnant. Everyone has been asking if I look pregnant yet, begging for pictures, etc., so I finally gave in. It's not my favorite thing to have a picture taken that hi-lights the weight and belly I've gained, but it will be fun to look back at it after the baby is born!

Everything is going well- the baby is healthy and developing well, and I feel great. We can't wait to meet our little son!

Finally Friday

I don't know why, but, more than usual, I have been LONGING for the weekend this week! Fortunately, it went by quickly. I am so sleepy today and can't wait to be in our soft bed with lots of pillows sleeping in tomorrow morning!!!

There is not a lot going on, really. The pregnancy is going fine. I love feeling the baby kicking and moving around, and I am looking forward to when he gets a little bigger so that Eric can feel it too. I still don't look that pregnant- just a little fat. :) But last Sunday I think I wore regular, non-maternity pants for the last time. It kind of bums me out to look in my closet and see my favorite shorts and skirts hanging in there that I won't get to wear when spring comes! I guess I'm not the first pregnant woman to deal with this. :)

This weekend (well, Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening) Eric is going fishing with my dad and brothers-in-law on Lake Texoma. I'll miss him while he's away, but I like time by myself, too. I am looking forward to cleaning the house (what a nerd) and to hopefully baking something yummy and new. There are few things more therepeutic for me than to bake by myself. I love it.

Happy weekend!

An Uneventful Day is a Good Day

Things have been going really well these past couple weeks- no more crazy health scares or anything like that. We are so thankful for normal, uneventful days! I am feeling so much better, and we are just praying that I'll heal completely and that the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly.

Last weekend my sister Heather and I hosted a slumber party for some girls from the youth group. It was a really good time. I love each one of those girls and am so proud of them. I think I got a total of four hours of sleep on Friday night, though, which nearly killed me. :) In college I was the queen of late nights, but I guess I'm getting too old (and pregnant) for that any more.

We got to go to a Stars game last weekend, too, which was a blast. Eric loves hockey games, and it was a fun, out-of-the-ordinary date for us, especially because they won 6-2!

We had another sonogram last week to check the baby's progress, and he is looking really healthy! We are so thankful, and it was really exciting to see him moving around in there. I can't wait to meet him!

Improvement!

I'm getting better! All I can attribute this to is prayer, but I am doing so much better! We are so thankful. On Friday I'll go back in for another sonogram to see the official prognosis, but we are just thanking the Lord that He took care of me and is healing whatever this was.

In other news, I'm starting to look pregnant! Or maybe just overweight. :) But still, it is nice to finally be showing at least a little. And it is really fun to feel the baby moving. We love him already!

The doctor's report

I don't want this to become a medical journal by any means. :) I just want to ask for prayer... the doctor isn't sure what this little lump is. He has two different theories, both of which aren't too bad, both of which will hopefully need no surgical intervention. I am trying not to imagine the worst, praying for the best, and waiting. My doctor, who I really like and trust, said just to take it easy this weekend and report back to him on Monday about how I'm doing.

Anyway, if you think of it, please pray! Mostly that I won't worry and that I will trust God, and also that He will just heal me and take care of this problem. Thank you!
